Murcia Holidays

Visiting Murcia

Murcia is one of the small regions that Spain has, but a very popular and beautiful one. Located in the south eastern part of Spain, Murcia has a very interesting history that was formed along the centuries by the Carthaginians, the Romans and of course, by the Moors. The Health Organization says that you will find in Murcia the healthiest climate not only in Spain, but on the European continent; it is this detail that made the region a very famous one. 320 days of warm sun is the impressive number that those who live in Murcia have the chance to enjoy, as well as 250 kilometers of splendid coastline, beautiful wild areas dominated by mountains and picturesque surroundings created by the apricots and orange orchards; it is impossible not to let yourself charmed by the beauties of this spectacular Spanish region. However, it is the mountainous landscape that most attracts tourists and the beauty of the vineyards, but the Baroque architecture that waits for you in the capital city of the province is also something that you are not allowed to miss.

The beautiful Murcia city

If you love visiting the historic cities, then Murcia is the perfect place for you! The city is often described as being one of the most beautiful historic cities in Spain, so make sure you give it some of your attention when you decide to visit the region. The historic buildings, the city walls, the churches that were originally mosques built by the Moors, the city’s Cathedral, all these are monuments that you have to see, as they tell the story of Murcia. For example, the Cathedral was founded by Bishop Pedrosa in 1388 and what is very impressive about it is that it displays several architectural styles and that it contains no less than 23 chapels. The Santa Ana Convent Church dating back to the 15th century and the San Miguel Church dating back to the 17th century represent two other monuments that every tourist should write down on the sightseeing list. Murcia is a vibrant city that offers you numerous entertainment possibilities, a city where the fiestas full of joy and vigour feel like home, a city where you will have a lot of fun, especially if you are an energetic person. Visiting ferienhaus spanien will help you relax, as Murcia is surrounded by a very calm and peaceful atmosphere, so a holiday here can turn out to be a memorable one.

Andalucia And Its Beautiful Huelva

The perfect holiday location

Huelva is that place in Spain that offers you an idyllic location of an unbelievable natural beauty with an air of authentic Spain and some of the most marvelous beaches you have ever seen. You’ll find Huelva in the beautiful province of Andalusia, somewhere along the picturesque Costa de Luz and it represents the biggest concentration of top beaches in Spain; this makes Huelva the ideal destination for a summer holiday. What will also impress you in Huelva are the immense diversity and the 3000 hours of sunshine that the area receives every single year. A third of its entire extension is occupied by the amazing Donana Nature Reserve, one of the biggest and most important wetlands reserve not only in the country, but in the continent. Those who love nature will also fall in love with the reserve, as it is the home of about 365 species, out of which 5 of them are endangered, such as the Egyptian mongoose or the Iberian lynx. Those who want to enjoy the beauties of the park can do it by either going on a guided tour, trekking, horseback riding or even 4x4 trips.

Other attractions of the province

Huelva is also the province that hosts the El Rocio village, the one that became famous as it is an important spot on the pilgrimage map: the Rocio Virgin is the reason why thousands of people visit the village during the famous Romeria Del Rocio festival. The city of Huelva is the capital of the province; it is an industrial city, but this does not mean that you won’t have entertainment opportunities. Sightseeing is very important in Huelva, so make sure you visit the Barrio Obrero, the beautiful Cathedral, the few churches spread all over the city (each displaying another architectural style) or the Provincial Museum, the place where you have the chance to see a series of archaeological artifacts that tell the story of Huelva. The Sierra de Aracena area is another place of great interest, a picturesque mountain range that will win your hearts with its breathtaking landscapes. If these are enough for you and you decided to visit Huelva, choose for accommodation the Fuerte El Rompnido Hotel, located on the Costa de Luz in a spectacular natural setting. Another great option is represented by the Islantilla Golf Resort, a golf course and hotel complex with excellent services for tourists. Enjoy Huelva!

More Beach Offerings at Alicante

Urbanova Beach

If you want something different from the norm during your vacation, but still enjoying the beach and fun in the sun, try Urbanova beach. It is located outside the city. It is a nudist beach; hence, it is always spacious as the crowd is thinner here. The sand offering is fantastic that stretches for miles with an equally fantastic city and harbor view.
Playa de El Saladar or Urbanova beach is easily accessible by N-332. Many are impressed with this beach; it is even longer than San Juan beach. You can also visit Saint Barbara castle where you can enjoy the sand and sun.  Urbanova beach is located between Urbanova and Arenales del Sol, 2 residential areas. There are plenty of bars, pubs, restaurants and places to shop. Many tourists facilities like lifeguards, watchtowers, parking, toilets and foot showers are available. The best way to reach Urbanova beach is via car where you can park at one of the nearby hotels.

Alternatively, you can hop on bus No. 27 at Alicante’s RENFE train station which comes on every hour. The trip takes about 2 hours with another 25 minutes to the beach.

Cabo de las Huertas beach

This beach gives you a sense of freedom as you experience the wildness and natural surroundings. It may be rocky at various sections but this is something unique as erosion has taken place for millions of years on the many flat rocky plates. However, there is lots of space to lay down for a good tan. With the Cabo lighthouse, you can explore the majesty of the Cabo region that displays some lovely holiday villas in a quiet residential area.

A big section of Cabo beach is occupied by nudists and gay visitors. However, there is plenty of room for a swim, walk, sunbath or just about anything you want to do on the beach like exploring nature and mountain biking.

You must know the directions to Cabo villa spanien beach as it is not very straightforward. Bus No. 22 will take you to the Cabo suburbs but it does not stop exactly close to the beach. Cabo beach is located down the hill; that can be easily missed although there are supposedly two huge white Greek columns at the hill top. However, these cannot be viewed from the bus and hence, the stop can be missed. The best way to Cabo beach is to get started from San Juan beach and walk backwards towards along its rocky shore. When you pass the lighthouse, you would have reached Cabo beach.

The Magical Town of Elche

Elche is the capital of Baix Vinalopo District; this city is also Alicante Province’s second biggest offering a charming destination for tourists. It is located at the Valencian Autonomous Community.

History of Elche

This city lies in the Spanish Costa Blanca region with a prosperous history that goes way back to Iberian times; hence, it offers plenty of interesting historical sites.
It is called City of Palms for its famous expansive palm trees called the Palmeral. Elche is honored to be credited with the only palm forest that still exists in Europe with more than 10,000 palm trees; many of them are actually date palms. The expansive site of over 3.5 square kilometers was originally planted by Phoenicians at 6th century BC.  However, the Moors designed and cultivated the grove sometime during 8-13th centuries.

The most spectacular forest sight has to be the Imperial Palm with seven stems in a Candelabra shape. Today, many such groves are developed into beautiful parks and gardens. The groves are still being watered by the River Vinalopó irrigation system which was designed at the 10th century. Today, this forest is declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Elche’s Mystery Play is also very popular during its annual performance. UNESCO has declared it as the 2001 Oral and Intangible Heritage masterpiece. Its play is a 15th century sacred program with lyrics. This is the only medieval religious theatre of Europe.

Interesting Sights

Elche has many museums for you to feast your eyes on like the Municipal Festa, Pucol Agricultural and La Alucida museums. They showcase many rare artifacts that will amaze you. Besides museums, there are popular ancient monuments found in Torre de la Calahorra, the Town Hall, Santa Maria Basillica and Torre de Calendura. For a taste of nature, refreshing sights await at El Honda and Clot de Galvany nature parks.

Getting Around Torrevieja

Torrevieja is a popular holiday resort at the south of Spain which is easily accessible from Alicante airport or Murcia airport. You could also drive up from southern France through AP-7.

Alicante as the major hub

Alicante airport is currently the region’s largest airport and major hub for North Europe and the rest of the world. Benidorm may be most tourists’ first holiday destination but Torrevieja is only 40 minutes from Alicante airport. The best way to sightsee Torrevieja is via a rental car.

From Alicante airport, you can choose the AP-7 or the back road to come on to N-323. AP-7 is the quicker access with many signs unlike N-323 which is not very well lighted. But the N-323 takes you straight to Torrevieja while AP-7 goes through Carrefore first.

Murcia Airport

Another airport which is only 30 minutes from Torrevieja is Murcia airport. It is a smaller airport with a direct connection to AP-7. There will be some tollbooths near Torrevieja but you can take the N-323 that goes north leading to Campoamor beach. You will still reach Torrevieja.

Torrevieja

This town has plenty of narrow winding streets that are typical of ancient Spanish towns. Most of these are one way. Parking is located at the harbor area where a car park is available. Locals tend to park along the town’s narrow streets and there should be some parking space if you care to go round to look for one. It may be time consuming but may be worth the hassle that one might experience from the car park at the harbor area.

The locals like fast cars and they like to move without stopping. Hence, you will need to be very careful while driving here as you may need to pull over at a safe place, especially passing a slip road. Local drivers will not slow down, stop or move over; hence, it is better that you do, being the foreign driver. However, the locals are very polite and courteous with the horn; they are also very accommodating in letting you get into the queue.

Slow drivers are alright with them as long as their journey is not interrupted with any effort to change their speed so that they can hurry on to their destination. The locals are not judgmental of any drivers like other countries.

Torrevieja experiences a large North European population today who has holiday homes here. So, it may not be the local ferienwohnungen spanien Spanish driver after all. Drive safely.

Now, its shoe-making industry is considered one of Spain’s most important industries.

Playa Flamenca

This Spanish village is situated in Orihuela Costa district at south of Costa Blanca. It developed late in 1970s when Flemish investors transformed it from a barren coastline to a popular holiday destination by the coast with improved beach and enhanced promenades. Enjoying Lanzarote’s Best Beaches

An island close to Sahara Desert can only transform into a beach paradise for those who love the fun in the sun; Lanzarote offers just that! It boasts of having more than 90 stretches of sand where much of it glitters like golden grains and not the same black sand that is commonly found on other Canary Islands. It is these beautiful sandy beaches that have created this little Canary Island to be a popular Spanish holiday destinations. This beautiful island can attract about 1.5 million tourists annually. The main resorts also have man made beaches, using sand from the Sahara but there is still an abundance of natural playas that make a wonderful exploration for any beach lover.
Island’s attractions

Northern beach

There are many interesting things to do at Lanzarote. Even the locals are torn between north island attraction Famara and south island attraction Papagayo. Famara is more picturesque in its natural setting at the North West Coast of the island. There, you will feel the sea breeze from the Atlantic and Trade Winds. Because of that factor, the beach becomes very popular with wind surfers as well as kite surfers. Famara is big, measuring 8km with the majestic Famara massif at one end. This is the range of cliffs that stood high at 460metres. It is laid with a great expanse of sand that forms the vast bay. You will also enjoy the view of La Garciosa, another small island that is a little further out at sea. This is a popular beach that is frequented by the locals, especially in the summer. But the best time to visit this beach is either September or October; that is because the Trade Winds would not be blowing too strong and you can enjoy a more pleasant walk and time then.

Southern beach

Papagayo means Parrot in Spanish; it is sited at the south of Lanzarote which is more sheltered. It is close to the famous Playa Blanca resort which is open to tourists all year round. The beaches here are totally different from those at Famara; the beaches are categorized into coves and bays. There are a number of these here which give great views to Fuerteventura, which is a neighboring island.

Papayago beaches are protected. They are located 20 minutes away from Playa Blanca which can be easily accessed by foot, car or water taxi which can be hailed from the resort’s ferry port.

Both these ferienwohnungen lloret de mar beaches of Lanzarote offer little amenities as their natural atmospheres are retained; hence, visitors need to bring their own supplies of water, food and shade.

The Charming Chipude

A short description of a big country

Spain is not a very big country in which concerns its dimensions, but it is a grand one when it comes to tourism: millions and millions of people from all the corners of the world visit Spain year after year. How does the country manage to keep this high level? Well, the answer is simple: Spain is a very diverse country and since it has something to offer to any type of tourist, no one ever gets bored when visiting Spain. The landscapes will be the first to win your hearts, because they are all picturesque and they all offer panoramic views. Then you will be welcomed by the modern, cosmopolite cities that hide wonderful stores and impressive historical and architectural heritages. Why Chipude?

Chipude was until about 200 years ago in the place of the largest town that La Gomera had. Now, tourists find it small, but cozy and with a special charm that makes them have a wonderful holiday. The Virgen Candelaria Church, dating back to the 16th century is the figure that dominates the main square of the town and also one of its most important attractions, so you have to visit it! Chipude is a mountain village, so prepare yourself with a lot of energy, because you will need it. All mountain villages are always full of energy; one of the proofs stays the annual fiesta that takes place on every 15th of August, fiesta that celebrates the patron saint of the village. You will be ferienhaus costa brava charmed with all the colors, the dancing, the food and the good music. Those who need accommodation, as well as a recommendation for a nice restaurant should take into consideration the Bar Pension Sonia: it has wonderful services. Enjoy Chipude! Andalusia and its coastal towns

The amazing Andalusia and its attractions

Andalusia is one of the most famous provinces in Spain and it also became one of the most popular. Andalusia attracts visitors with its unique air, with its originality, its lively spirit and last, but definitely not least, with its coasts. Thousands of tourists from all over the world choose these coastal towns due to the fact that they are absolutely amazed by the beauty of the landscapes, by the picturesque views, the delicate beaches and of course, by the clear, blue waters. Somewhere to the south of the famous and absolutely fantastic beach tourists will find a series of small and isolated coves that host incredible towns and beaches. The road is a very rough one as it is the scenic, the splendid Mojacar Carboneras. This road winds through the high hills and its unique feature is that it only offers occasional access to beaches that are extremely tempting. You should know, before taking the decision to visit this part of Spain that no bus will take you to the place you want to, so you have to be very determined and prepared for a difficult road.

Carboneras and Agua Amarga

Carboneras is the first town that opens in front of your eyes right after you escape the difficult road segment. The beach can be described as an average one, but just perfect for a few quiet hours. The massive cement factory destroys the beauty of the surroundings, so if you don’t want something like this in your holiday, move on to Agua Amarga. Agua Amarga will make a better impression on you, in fact, a great one! The fine beach is wonderful for a nice tan and a beautiful relaxing time, enjoying the clear blue of its waters and the spectacular sun. The beach is surrounded by picturesque villas and you have a good selection of restaurants to choose from, restaurants that serve delicious local dishes. There might be problems with the accommodation, especially in the summers, so if you want to spend a few nights in Agua Amarga, book your places much in advance.

La Garrucha

La Garrucha is a very lively coastal villa blanes town and at the same time, a beautiful fishing harbor. While here, make sure you try the restaurants that serve fresh fish dishes: they are absolutely delicious! La Garrucha is not recommended as a couple of days escape, because accommodation is expensive. Instead, take it into consideration as a Mojacar trip. Enjoy!

Visiting Cadiz

Founded by the Phoenicians over 3,000 years ago, Cadiz is considered the oldest city in the western world. With one of the most important ports in Spain, because it is located on the bay that bears its name and surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, it is united with the rest of the peninsula by a narrow isthmus. Christopher Columbus was aware of this benefit since it is from there that he left for the Americas at various times.

Cadiz is mainly known for its carnival. The remainder of the year it is a relatively calm city since there are only 135,000 people who live to the rhythm of Andalusia: relaxation, good humor and kindness. At every corner, you can enjoy the fresh fish markets, cafes, alleyways, colorful facades or the stones of the old city of Cadiz.

Cadiz offers many beautiful beaches, magnificent sea views and walking opportunities in the shade of palm trees, many bars, museums, shops and historical monuments to see and visit.

Accommodation with host families in Spain

Living in a Spanish family is the best way to learn Spanish and really know the lifestyle of the Spaniards, their culture and traditions.

You can choose between accommodation in host families with half board (breakfast and dinner) and full board (breakfast, lunch and dinner).

If you are a vegetarian, allergic to cats, dogs or if you have any other specific requests, you can still find homes accordingly, to cater to your requirements.

Please know that our host families can be couples with children, single parents or elderly and / or retired, all Hispanics. In addition, you will never be housed with someone of the same nationality as you, except requested by you, in order to practice a maximum Spanish.

The option of home stay accommodation is available in all destinations of Spain.

Enjoy beautiful ocean views!

Torre Tavira was built in the 18th century and was proclaimed the official panoramic tour of the city. In addition to allowing the observation of magnificent views of the ball and the ocean, the tower also houses the "cámara oscura," a kind of camera projecting a moving image of the city on a screen. Very nice!

Taste "Pescadito frito"

You cannot leave ferienhaus costa blanca Cadiz without tasting the dishes of fish and seafood and especially "Pescadito frito" (fried). The best place to eat is the Freidería Las Flores, located in Plaza Topete.

The city of Bilbao

The city of Bilbao, capital of the province of Vizcaya and largest town of the Basque Country, was able to escape from a situation of post-industrial stagnation, thanks to an ambitious renovation project called urbano. This city, which lies on the banks of the river Nevrion is populated by more than 1,000,000 inhabitants, mainly of Basque origin, and it is structured in three parts. In fact, Bilbao is the old part, the new town, more modern, which has developed over the past century, and an even newer part, which is still in progress to establish itself as a European city of great development.

The city is the main historical, political and administrative center of the region. Also nearby are planted a number of industries that make it the most important city in terms of economic development in this region. The currency is the Euro, which is divided into cents, and like the rest of Spain, Bilbao is not overly expensive, although less cheap compared to other destinations in the south. Spanish is widely spoken here but part of the population speaks Euskera (Basque). The main signs are bilingual.

Places to visit: Plaza Nueva, which is accessed from El Arenal and is the heart of the city and the ideal starting point for a city tour. Nearby there are the Museo Vasco and the Church of San Nicola. Walking in the nearby Calle de la Ribeira you can visit the Cathedral of Santiago and the Teatro Arriaga, two historic buildings in Bilbao. Not far from the Church of San Anton, Gran Via de Don Diego De Aro, the road runs through the new part of the city from the Puente del Arenal, which connects the old town, even to the San Mames Stadium, known for its grandeur. Here you can see teams playing matches with Athletic Bilbao, the beloved local team consisting of Basque players. Along the way, the main financial and commercial center of Bilbao is home to the stock exchange, North Station, Plaza de Moyua and Iturriza Park, the green heart of the city.

Other destinations in ferienhäuser costa blanca Bilbao include the Guggenheim Museum of Fine Arts, which is emerging as a major cultural site in Spain, and the Palazzo dei Congressi and the Basque of Music. Beyond 'Eponymous bridge is the Town Hall (Ayuto), another landmark building in Bilbao. Other destinations outside Bilbao: heading towards the sea you can find the historic city of Gernika.

Cultural Aragon

Aragon (L 'Aragon or Aragón in Catalan or Spanish) is an autonomous region of northeastern Spain. It has an area of 47,719 km ², with a population of 1,217,514 residing there as of 2003.

The Aragon is bordered to the north by France (Aquitaine and Midi-Pyrenees regions), to the east by Catalonia, Valencia to the south, and west by Castile-La Mancha, Castilla y Leon, La Rioja, and Navarre.

Its capital is Zaragoza, which is also the most populated center of the region.

In addition to its three provinces, Zaragoza, Huesca, and Teruel, Aragon is divided into 33 districts (counties).

The Aragon is bordered by France and is therefore equidistant from the Pyrenees.

In particular, the High Aragon, which corresponds to the central Pyrenees, is particularly interesting because of the peculiarity of its landscapes and grandiose tradition, dotted with villages built in dressed stone with slate roofs.

The Aragon is rich in nature reserves in which numerous species of animals are found, which are not present in most other parts of Europe.

Apart from being an undisputed natural paradise, Aragon is a mine of culture: the heir of the ancient kingdom of Aragon and the lively centers of medieval scholarship are still active.

Many varied activities are offered in this region, from winter sports (skiing in the mountains) to hikes in the numerous natural parks.

Among the cities' most visited areas are Teruel, Huesca and Zaragoza.

Cultural villa costa blanca tourism is one of the main attractions of Aragon, whose rich heritage has accumulated over the centuries. The Monastery of San Juan de la Peña, a symbol of the birth of the Christian kingdom, and Aljafería Zaragoza, living reminders of the passage of the Arabs in this land, are an example of the mixture of cultures that have taken place in history. Ela, the capital of the Teruel Mudejar art movement, an architectural style of Arab and Christian influence, which is widespread in most of the provinces of Teruel y Zaragoza. The Aragon is the Romanesque Cathedral of Jaca and the Church of San Pedro in the Old Huesca. Other examples of architecture are located in the medieval castles; Alcaniz, Loarre, Monzon, Borja, Calatayud, or Albarracín. The capital of Zaragoza offers treasures such as the Palacio de la Lonja, Seo or the el Pilar, places of worship to the Virgin of Pilar. The Pilar Festival, celebrated every year, lasts nine days, and is famous for fireworks in Ebro, dances, parades, concerts and bullfights. October is therefore a good month to visit the capital.

Tapas in Granada

My Spanish aunt-in-law narrated her experience at tapas bars in Granada City and it was hard to believe that one could have a free plate of tapas for ordering a drink. She also mentioned Granada as her preferred destination because of the same free tapas, and our going there to retrieve the truth for ourselves.
Type of Tapas in Granada:

. Chips
. Bread
. Olives
. Calamari
. Chicken wings
. Nuts
. Sardine
. Salad
. Chorizo
. Cured Ham
. Potatoes in garden mayonnaise
. Croquettes
. Anchovies fried in clobber
. Meatballs
. Wine and garlic sauce

We found and checked into our exquisite Granada hotel and immediately ordered a glass of fine Spanish plonk. It was a hot Thursday afternoon, and the nice tapas bar across the street seemed very busy. I ordered a huge glass of Vino Tinto and it tasted better than what we would get back in England. As Aunty had told us, the owner began to serve a delicious looking variety of fresh food. It was like the type you pay a lot for all over Spain and England. First, a corned ham was served, which had just been cut and had been hanging just a while ago.

Then pistachios, cheese, and a few bread slices with virgin olive oil were served. Fulfilling my expectations, I drank my wine and start enjoying my Granada vacation. Therefore, I ordered a glass again and along came another plate of free tapas but with different dishes than before. There were a few delicious chicken wings with oil sauce, and Spanish tomatoes, several fresh slices of bread, and some olives. We were allured by the things that we got for only half price, but to be served free excellent tapas made me overjoyed. We explored Granada more and these fine tapas bars turned out to be our regular hangout. For me the friendliness and relaxed attitude of Spanish people in business really amazed me, as this is unusual for a Londoner where the people are quite hectic and busy all day. So it turned out, the local people and food seemed better with more and more time spent there. Tapas are positively worth an excuse to visit Granada if nothing else.

For more villa lloret travel advice and information about the surrounding places of Granada and its specialty, tapas, please visit Granada.

The Parks at Alicante Safari

In fabulous Alicante, Spain, we spent one enchanting day at Elche. Said to be the most attractive place in the city, we headed to its Rio Safari Park. It’s very easy to locate as there are many guide posts to the area once you get past Santa Pola and south of Alicante.

Before you arrive, you’ll be greeted by an enticing pool, playground, water flume, a restaurant, and camels for riding. As I saw the camels, I felt ecstatic and thought about the series of events we’d planned for the day.

The sun was scorching that day and I was holding myself still to keep on the clothes I was wearing. It is advisable for you to think about the clothes you want to flaunt especially if you go out in an area where there’s very minimal shade. Don’t forget to dab a handful of sun block on your skin. Always try to keep cool.

At the Safari Park of Elche, we were surprised to learn that they give the visitors and tourists their independence. This was certainly a plus because I could get closer to some animals like the parrots and try to feed them peanuts.

If you are really interested in animals, then you ought to check out the Rio Safari Park because it has the most animals, including but not limited to:

Buffalo Antelope Crocodiles Chimps Deer Camels Elephants Donkeys Fish Giraffes Emus Parrots Hippos Llamas Tigers Jaguars Monkeys Reptiles Ostriches Lions

Here, the animals are well taken care of as they are given enough space for them to live healthily. You will be doing a lot of walking so it is a very smart idea to wear your most comfortable shoes.

When the day was about to commence, we rode a train for a tour of the zoo. I enjoyed this part of our day because it was a great time to catch a cool breeze.

I had a blast walking around the park as they had many animals. One of the most memorable experiences we had was when our 2-year-old son burst out laughing as he caught sight of the parrots. One particular parrot did a really good job entertaining all of us. He rode the bicycle, played dead, and played basketball! The parrot did such a good show that I even watched a clip of the show on YouTube as I was doing this article. The elephants were a surprise treat too! They blow water from their trunks, so try to grab a seat at the back of the stand if you don’t want to get wet.

As the environment got more humid, we took the time to eat a couple of ice cream cones. They serve food at a reasonable price, but it didn’t really satisfy my taste buds. And I have to admit that we barely had a handful of French fries so we stopped at the McDonald’s restaurant located in Santa Pola while on our way back to Alicante.

It was a day well-spent at the Alicante safari park and I, with no hesitations, recommend ferienhaus spanien for the family.

Prospects of tourism in spain

The season for holidays in Spain is expected to be very promising, at least if you consider the results of the survey on travel behavior (Habitur) by the Institute of Tourism Studies.

During the study, the 15,000 foreign tourists who were interviewed spent at least one night in Spain during 2010. These results were most encouraging and anticipated that 59.8% of foreign tourists who visited the country last year will repeat the experience in 2011. This indicates that six out of ten visitors will return to Spain.

UK tourists make up the largest group of travelers who anticipate returning to the country in 2011. 68.5% chose this response, while in second place are the German tourists with 56%. The Italians answered the survey with a 53.2% return rate.

Interestingly, it is tourists who visited the country in the off-peak season who were the majority of respondents saying they wanted to return the following year. By contrast, the largest number of tourists who did not want to return in 2011 visited the country in the peak season.

The survey also revealed that 72% of foreign travelers repeat their travel experience to visit family and friends.

Nature trails and eco-tourism in Spain

The supply of travel destinations in Spain has been increased in line with the new “Natural Roads Program” created and overseen by the Ministry of Environment of Spain. With the aim to highlight and preserve the natural areas of the country, the program has been in effect since 1993 and today comprises 82 circuits totaling more than 4,000 km of hiking and nature trails.

With this initiative, the Ministry seeks to bring people back to their natural environment with the possibility of engaging in outdoor activities such as trekking and hiking. At the same time, the Ministry is trying to attain sustainable rural development and to assist with environmental education.

The budget for this program has been aimed at the improvement and expansion of these routes as well as the promotion of the program. So far, total investment was EUR 3.45 million with the ultimate goal of achieving a responsible tourist use of the natural and cultural heritage of Spain.

In the ferienhäuser spanien  latest meeting of the Spanish international tourism trade fair FITUR, a position on natural roads has been presented with the intention that these routes become increasingly recognized.

Therefore this is the ideal time to go on a vacation in Spain with your loved ones. Find yourself relaxing in nature and enjoy the greenery, the sun, the sand, the beaches, the music and the food.

The hidden antequera

An impressive historical town

When you decide to visit Antequera, prepare for a trip back in time, a 5,000 years one; Antequera has been inhabited since the Bronze Age, then the native Iberians came in the area and started to create the first settlements. You will find Antequera patiently waiting for its visitors in the heart of the province of Andalusia, being surrounded by cities like Granada, Malaga and Seville. The alhambra treasure

Visiting a spectacular monument

If you decide to visit Granada, you have to visit its treasure: the Alhambra. Those who don’t have too much time at their disposal for Granada should leave aside any other part of the city and go to visit the spectacular Moorish architecture pearl, the best preserved and most exquisite example of Moorish palace not only in Spain, but in the entire Europe. The ancient fortress represents the main attraction and actually, the most interesting one in Granada and it attracts visitors from all the corners of the world. The word ‘’The Alhambra’’ means the ‘’Red Castle’’ translated from Arabic into English and the Moorish poets cherish it as being ‘’a pearl set in emeralds’’. About the Alhambra

The Alhambra occupies a strategic place, as it used to be a fortress; Sawar den Hamdun is thought to have sought refuge within the walls of the ‘’Alcazaba’’ and decided to expand the site. The opulence and the luxury that you would expect for the Moorish kings were present in the Alhambra, represented by the beautiful Arabesque architecture. However, the 15th century brought some harsh days for the Alhambra, as the Christians started to be interested in it. In 1492 the Christians conquered the city from the Moors and started to put their own fingerprints, imposing a few changes on the architecture of the Site. The ferienhäuser lloret de mar Moorish architecture managed to survive almost entirely, but Renaissance elements were introduced in some of the constitutive parts of the site. The entire complex is superb and tourists need an entire day in order to see all its wonders; however, if you don’t have enough time at your disposal, do visit the Patio of the Lions. The Patio has a beautiful rectangular courtyard which is surrounded by a spectacular gallery which is supported by 124 columns made of marble. You will love it, so make sure you visit it!

SEVILLE AND ITS BEAUTIES
A few words about a beautiful city
Seville is located in the southern region of Spain, making it one of the Spanish cities that enjoy the perfect climate for a spectacular holiday. This city is very important, not only for tourism in Spain but also for its economy and politics. It plays the role of provincial capital as it is the home of the Andalusian regional government. Seville is situated on a picturesque plain of the famous Guadalquivir River, the river that bisects the entire city from north to south. This allows the 700,000 inhabitants of Seville to enjoy the beautiful landscape that surrounds their city. The promenade along the Guadalquivir River is the perfect place for a romantic walk. However, the importance of the Guadalquivir River is far more than just being a beautiful place to take a stroll. Ships can navigate up the river to the Atlantic Coast, so Seville has played an important role in commerce since its founding. Commerce between Spain and the two Americas was far easier with the help of the Guadalquivir River. The river continues to be a major avenue of commerce, so Seville continues to be an important river port to this day.

The history of an interesting city

Seville was founded with the help of the Tartessians, the ones who founded Hispalis. After they founded Hispalis, the Romans took control and built Italica, a city very close to Seville. Soon Seville was built and was ruled for centuries by the Romans, until the Northern Barbarians arrived and conquered it. The Barbarians lost control of the area to the Moors, so the city that you see today is a very interesting combination of different architectural styles as every culture left its mark on every corner of the city. The 17th century was the most important period in the history of Seville, as this period was its most flourishing time. This is the century when Seville gave birth to some of the most important painters and sculptors of Spain. These artists left their works behind as their legacy, as is the case with the great Diego Velasquez and Martinez Montanes. Since you are in Seville, you will not be allowed to miss tasting its famous tapas. Seville is world renowned for being the birthplace of the delicious tapas. Thousands of bars and pubs are spread all over the city, waiting for their visitors to enjoy a cool drink and have a taste of this delicious Spanish dish. Enjoy the perfect holiday in ferienhaus costa blanca you have always dreamt of and head to Seville!
